Jeremiah 17:5-9

5 This is what the LORD says:
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.

7 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.

8 He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."

9 The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?

I wanted to share this scripture with you, so that we can all know where our trust should be. You cannot trust man with your life. God is the only one who we can depend on. When you need someone, call on the Lord. He will supply someone with the ability to be there for you. Everything that you do you should take to the Lord first and he will help you with all things. God is good! Please have a blessed day!

  1. I love this passage of Scripture. It is so easy to trust in man (woman). Then we are disappointed when they let us down. You will be let down by people. BUT, we can choose to TRUST GOD, and never be forsaken! Hallelujah!

    However, I am glad you included verse nine...about the heart.

    We rely so much on our feelings. Feelings are not bad, no not at all, but they are also unreliable.

    We often say, "I 'feel' I am making the right decision" or "I feel like this or that is right," but if it does not line up to the Word of God, it matters not how we feel.

  2. The reason I included verse 9 is for exactly what you said. Our own hearts deceive us, so how can we even begin to depend on another man's heart?

  3. Also, In my reading of The Confident Woman, by Joyce Meyer, she says, "We must realize that God works through people." She goes on to say, "God does miracles, but He does them through people with uncommon courage."

    The Confident Woman is a very good book. You all should read it. I am going to pass mine around.
